In the wake of a major operational failure, retained by the company’s CFO to perform an end-to-end review of the company’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and environmental risk management programs.
We identified and recommended resolution to weaknesses in risk assessment and risk reporting aspects of the company’s ERM program, particularly related to assessing the priority of mitigating potential events that, while very low probability, represented losses well in excess of the company’s risk tolerance. Subsequently, retained by the COO to develop and enable a risk algorithm to provide an early warning of potentially significant failures across transmission & distribution assets and to prioritize allocation of capital to quantitatively higher-risk assets.
